The no arbitrage principle states everything in the stock market is fairly valued; too many people much smarter than you are combing through this stuff all day and you’re not going to figure out anything before anybody else. You don’t make money by having a hunch that nobody else has, because you need other people to buy in after you to push the price up, so your only option is to figure something out before other people inevitably figure it out.
